Joseph Drouhin, Chablis, Domaine de Vaudon, 2005, Burgundy, France
Winespoint rating: 90/100
Once poured it says “hello” with its mellow yellow buttery color. On the nose it meets you with light butter hints packed with lemons, easy bread tones all with the typical steely character of a solid Chablis. It is comfortably balanced with a bit higher acidity – just as you would expect from Chablis. Yet do not worry it is not a acidic monster in no way since the acidity is backed by barrique flavors which in the end creates a well portioned wine. Balanced, nicely flavored, solid Chablis from a great producer and a great vintage (scored as much as 95/100). It is a medium bodied Chardonnay with light barrique tones that do not overwhelm other present flavors. This is a wine that greatly pairs with any seafood or salmon fishes.
